Guernsey parish douzeniers elected

Nine Guernsey parish officials have been elected after ballots were held in St Peter Port and St Saviour.

Phil Duquemin, Alison Foley and Margaret MacDonald were elected to the St Saviour's Douzaine.

In St Peter Port Peter Burtenshaw, David Falla, Christine Goodlass, Keith Pike, Jacqueline Robin and Danielle Sebire were voted in as douzeniers.

Just 10 of the 43 seats positions of either constable or douzenier were contested.

The other position, in St Sampson, was voted on last month at a parish meeting.

Election Results

St Peter Port douzenier (six seats):

Successful candidates and votes - Danielle Sebire 81, Peter John Burtenshaw 78, Christine Elizabeth Goodlass 75, Keith Ronald Pike 74, David Falla 59 and Jacqueline Carol Robin 55.

Unsuccessful candidate and votes - Andrew Scheffer 48.

Votes were cast by 150 people, which is a turnout of 4.6%, and there were two spoilt papers.

St Saviour douzenier (three seats):

Successful candidates and votes - Philip Duquemin 241, Alison Foley 173 and Margaret Macdonald 160.

Unsuccessful candidate and votes - Joy Skillett 116.

Votes were cast by 322 people, which is a turnout of 21.3%, and there were no spoilt papers.
