IT hacking attack warning by Jersey finance regulator

Jersey's finance regulator has emailed a warning to 300 companies that they may soon be subjected to an attack by internet hackers.

The Financial Services Commission said it had received "credible information" that Jersey would be targeted in November but did not reveal the source.

It said a splinter group of the hacking group Anonymous, known as #opbankster, was alleged to be planning the attack.

The warning advised the companies to update their antivirus software.
