New play areas will be installed in Guernsey's Delancey Park this summer, the Admiral De Saumarez Trust has announced.

Three new play areas, totalling 550sq ft (51sq m) will be built in the south of the park, each for a different age group; toddlers, juniors and teenagers.

The plans have been approved by the States and work is due to commence in the week beginning 11 June.

They are due to be completed in July, ahead of the school holidays.

The £120,000 project has been funded by the majority of the trust's individual and corporate sponsors and includes a £5,000 grant from the Channel Islands Christmas Lottery.

A spokesperson for the trust said it was also planning to install adult fitness equipment.
