Guernsey vinery phone mast approved

Plans to build a phone mast in the north of Guernsey have been approved after being resubmitted.

Airtel-Vodafone reduced the height of the mast by 2m (6.5ft) to 16m (52ft) and proposed tree and hedge planting for its second application.

The Environment Board ruled the mast at the Oakleigh Vinery in the Vale was needed for phone coverage.

However, it insisted an independent survey should check the electromagnetic fields meet the standards required.

It follows health concerns raised by nearby residents.
