Guernsey police officer dismissal confirmed

The dismissal of a Guernsey police officer following a complaint has been confirmed by the Home Department.

A panel of three deputies found it agreed with the decision of the Chief of Police to dismiss James Priest.

The former sergeant, who was based in Alderney at the time of his suspension in April, was found to have seriously breached the police discipline code.

The Home Department said it was a private employment disciplinary matter and it would not comment further.
