After a gap of two years for the traditional beauty pageant, a new Miss Guernsey was crowned on Saturday.

Lisa Knott, 20, a hairdresser from St Peter Port, was given the honour from the eight finalists.

She said it was an "amazing" evening and she was "looking forward" to her role at various events on the island.

Ms Knot will be asked to represent the island at Guernsey's summer shows as well as Alderney Week and the Jersey Battle of Flowers.

The event raised £1,230 for local breast cancer support group The Pink Ladies.
