Ardclough, County Kildare: Police believe man found in canal 'was killed elsewhere'
Police in the Republic of Ireland believe a man whose remains were found in a suitcase in the Grand Canal in County Kildare was killed elsewhere.
The discovery was made at about 15:30 local time on Saturday in Ardclough, a village south of Celbridge.
People walking along the Grand Canal spotted a suitcase in the water. They then discovered there was a body in it.
Police believe the murder took place in the last five days.
RTÉ reports that Sunday's post-mortem examination to establish the cause of death proved inconclusive and further tests are required.
