Human skull found in Dublin field

A skull found in a field in Swords, north County Dublin, has been identified as human remains.

The Irish state pathologist carried out a preliminary examination on Thursday and determined the skull was that of a male.

The deceased has not yet been identified, while the skull has been removed to the Dublin city morgue.

A forensic anthropologist has been engaged.

The discovery of the skull was made by workmen on Wednesday afternoon.
