Bray house fire: Disabled man dies in suspected arson attack

A disabled man has died in a suspected arson attack on his home in County Wicklow in the Republic of Ireland.

David Costigan, a 55-year-old wheelchair user, was inside his house in Oldcourt Avenue, Bray, when the fire started at about 04:30 local time.

He was taken out of the house by firefighters and given first aid, but he was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police are treating the fire as "suspicious" and have carried out a technical examination at the property.

The office of the state pathologist has been notified and detectives have appealed for witnesses to contact them.
