Anthony Stokes charged with assaulting Elvis impersonator

Republic of Ireland and Celtic striker Anthony Stokes has been charged with assault causing harm.

The 25-year-old footballer is accused of assaulting Elvis impersonator Anthony Bradley, 42.

Dublin District Court heard he was arrested, by arrangement, on Chancery Street.

The alleged incident happened at a nightclub on 8 June, 2013, hours after an international against the Faroe Islands in Dublin's Aviva stadium.

The judge remanded Stokes on bail, with no conditions, on his own bond of 1,000 euro (£827).

He has been ordered to appear again before the court on 29 May.
