Irish Army defuses bomb in Buncrana

The Irish Army has made safe a bomb left outside a house in Buncrana in County Donegal.

An army spokesman said a number of homes were evacuated for a time on Monday afternoon while a controlled explosion was carried out.

The scene was declared safe at 15:40 BST.

The spokesman said some items were handed to police for use as possible evidence.
