Donegal's Letterkenny hospital opens A&E to 'walk in patients'

A temporary emergency department at Letterkenny General Hospital will accept walk-in patients frm Tuesday.

Accident and Emergency at the Donegal hospital was forced to close three weeks ago following serious flooding.

The hospital said the interim emergency department would open to self-presenting patients from midday.

Any non-emergency patients should continue to contact their GP and should not attend Altnagelvin Hospital in Londonderry.

Since the flooding damage, emergency cases have been sent to Sligo, Londonderry and Enniskillen.
