Man, 25, injured in Carlow shooting

A man was shot in the knee and stomach after he answered a knock at his front door early on Tuesday morning.

The shooting happened at about 02:25 BST at Burrin Road, Carlow in the Republic of Ireland.

The 25-year-old man was taken to St Luke's Hospital in Kilkenny. His injuries are not thought to be life threatening.

Irish police have appealed for

witnesses or anyone with information about the shooting to contact them.
