Saved from SA streets by Pavarotti CD


The music was alien to him and the language incomprehensible but for Mthetho Maphoyi the chance discovery of a CD by Italian opera singer Luciano Pavarotti led to a life-changing experience.

His love of the music and the kindness of strangers, such as pianist Derk Blaise, has opened up a whole new world to the boy from a Western Cape township in South Africa.
