Blast strikes French embassy in Mali
An explosion has rocked the French embassy in Mali, French officials have said.
They said a Malian national had been slightly injured during the incident, in the capital, Bamako.
The French news agency AFP said a man armed with a grenade and pistol threw an explosive at the embassy entrance.
No-one has claimed responsibility for the attack, but al-Qaeda-linked groups operate in the West African nation, a former French colony.
According to AFP, the man was immediately arrested after the incident and is being questioned by police.
"He was armed with an automatic pistol, an improvised explosive device and a grenade. He fired several shots at the door to the embassy," an unnamed security source in the capital told the news agency.
