A school canteen in Neath Port Talbot had to be closed after a "small rodent" was spotted in the seating area.

Llangatwg School in Cadoxton, near Neath, stopped serving food after the incident on Friday and contacted the Food Standards Agency (FSA).

Headmaster Alan Rowlands said: "A small minority of exaggeration and mistruth has been placed on social media".

Mr Rowlands said the canteen had since been given a clean bill of health by the FSA.

The animal's species is unknown but an online video suggests it is a rat.
