Builders of a new £250,000 house in Swansea have been forced to "decapitate" it because it has been ruled too big.

Hale Construction lost a planning appeal against Swansea council which declared it "unacceptable, oppressive and overbearing".

The two-storey house in Treboeth has to be reduced to a bungalow.

Brick by brick, the roof and top floor are being taken down following a two-year legal row.

Councillor Ceinwen Thomas said: "It was overlooking properties - you could see right into their rooms."
