Man dies after M4 van fire near Swansea with road still shut
A man has died after a van caught fire on the M4 near Swansea, which caused the eastbound carriageway to be shut.
Emergency services were called to a collision between junction 46, at Llangyfelach, and junction 45, at Ynysforgan, after 06:10 GMT on Friday.
South Wales Police said the passenger of a Peugeot Partner van suffered fatal injuries and the driver was taken to Swansea's Morriston Hospital.
The road has now reopened and traffic queues have eased.
The force said an investigation into the cause of the incident had been launched.
Traffic had been queuing for up to six miles (9.6km) on the affected stretch of road for much of Friday morning.
