Briton Ferry murder: Second man arrested by police

A second man has been arrested on suspicion of murder after a body was found in Neath Port Talbot.

Kevin Barry Mahoney, 46, was found dead in a lane behind Thomas Street, Briton Ferry, at 09:45 GMT on 6 January.

South Wales Police arrested a man, 31, on Tuesday, who remains in custody at Swansea Central Police Station.

A 44-year-old man previously arrested on suspicion of murder was released on bail on Sunday. Police are continuing to investigate the death.

Det Insp Rob Cronick said: "Our investigation is continuing and we are still working to piece together the circumstances which led to the discovery of Kevin Mahoney's body on Wednesday morning.

"The body was only partially clothed when it was discovered and the clothing Kevin Mahoney was wearing the evening before has not been located despite a number of searches.

"He was also not in possession of any personal belongings."
