Work to improve safety on a stretch of river where an 11-year-old-boy went missing is to take place, the Welsh government has said.

Cameron Comey, from Carmarthen, is believed to have fallen into the River Towy on 17 February after playing with his brother nearby.

The fire service, police, coastguard, mountain rescue and lifeboat teams were involved in the search operation.

The Welsh government said it plans to improve safety following the incident.

A spokesperson said: "As the registered owner of the land we intend to work with all interested parties to identify how to improve and manage safety in the area."
