Man, 90, died in 'unusual' circumstances in hospital

The death of a 90-year-old man who died in "unusual" circumstances in a hospital is being investigated by police.

Alfred Square died on 6 September in Singleton Hospital, Swansea.

An inquest was opened an adjourned after the coroner ordered a probe into Mr Square's death.

A spokesman for Abertawe Bro Morgannwg University Health Board said there was no suggestion his death is linked to any staff failure.

He added: "We express our sincere condolences to the family of the 90-year-old patient who died in Singleton Hospital."

A spokesman for South Wales Police said: "Police were notified of the death of a 90-year-old man at Singleton Hospital on 6th September 2014."
