South West Wales

Five extra trains between Fishguard and Carmarthen

A pilot scheme which introduced extra trains in south west Wales will be made permanent.

The additional five services between Fishguard, Pembrokeshire, and Carmarthen, running since 2011, will continue, the Welsh government said.

Transport Minister Edwina Hart has agreed to extend the service until 2018.

Following a survey, the government said the trains had brought economic and social benefits.
