Tributes have been paid to a motorcyclist who died following a crash with a car in Neath on Sunday.

Stuart Allen Hammett, 25, from the Melyn area, was riding a Yamaha scooter when it collided with a grey Ford C-Max at Hillside just after 21:00 BST.

Mr Hammett suffered serious injuries and later died.

In a statement issued through South Wales Police, his family said he had "a wonderful outlook on life in a positive way".

It added: "Stuart will be sorely missed by his parents Roy and Susan and his brothers Mark and Lee and his sister Carly and her partner Morgan and all his friends.

"Stuart had a great love for playing football from a young age, playing for many local teams.

"Stuart enjoyed socialising with family and friends. He was a hard worker alongside his brother."

The family added that he was remembered for saying: "My family and my friends mean more to me than life."

Any witnesses are asked to contact police on 101.
