Jewellery plea after woman wakes to burglar in Swansea

A woman woke to find a burglar in her bedroom in Swansea - and he then escaped with jewellery, including rings left by her mother.

Detectives have appealed for help in tracing the burglar and the stolen items, saying it was a "very upsetting experience" for the woman, 67.

The break-in through the front door happened in Sketty last Friday.

The stolen jewellery also included earrings and a pendant.

The incident happened at around 11:55 GMT in Glanmor Road.

Det Cons Emma Hughes of Swansea CID said: "The burglary has resulted in a quantity of jewellery being stolen, including an eternity ring and a diamond ring left to the victim by her mother.

"Glanmor Road is a busy road and I am appealing to anyone who saw or heard any suspicious activity in the area to contact the police."

South Wales Police said anyone with information can call 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
