Police in London searching for a missing barrister from Pembrokeshire have found a body.

It is thought that Gianni Sonvico, 23, of Islington, might have fallen into the River Thames, near the Tower Hill area, on the night of 25 October.

Officers were called to reports of a body in the water at Greenwich Pier at about 10:00 GMT on Friday. Mr Sonvico's family have been informed.

His sister Maya Sonvico had posted an appeal on YouTube to help find him.

And about 2,000 people have joined a Facebook group appealing for information following his disappearance.

Mr Sonvico, formerly of Goodwick, was called to the bar in the summer working as a research assistant for the Law Commission in London on law reform projects.

He is said to be a keen Arsenal supporter living near the club's Emirates Stadium in north London.

He is also a former pupil of Ysgol y Preseli in Crymych. Head teacher Martin Lloyd has described him as a "brilliant student and hugely likeable".
