The body of a man has been found on the shoreline of Caldey Island, Pembrokeshire, which is home to a Cistercian order of monks.

Dyfed-Powys Police say the body was discovered on Bullum's Bay beach, on the eastern side of the island on Monday.

Caldey, near Tenby, is separated from the mainland by Caldey Sound, a stretch of water of about 1km (0.6 miles).

Caldey Abbey is on the island, which is a popular tourist destination.

It also has a post office and lighthouse. The monks farm the land around the island.

Police have released no further details at this stage.
