A closure of part of the Heads of the Valleys road has been called off because of the freezing weather.

A five-mile (8km) stretch of the A465 between Brynmawr, Blaenau Gwent, and Gilwern, Monmouthshire, was due to shut at 20:30 GMT on Friday for the weekend.

But the closure has been postponed as the Welsh Government want to ensure all major roads remain open in case snow or ice close shut smaller roads.

The £220m project through the Clydach Gorge is to be completed in late 2018.
