Girl in hospital after 'being hit by car' in Cardiff
A young girl has been airlifted to hospital with "serious head injuries" after reports she was "knocked over by a car" on a busy Cardiff road.
The A48 Cowbridge Road West in Cardiff, near Culverhouse Cross, has been closed in both directions as police investigate the incident.
The incident occurred at 12:15 GMT and the air ambulance took the child to Cardiff's University of Wales hospital.
It happened between Michaelston Road and the A4232 Ely Link Road roundabout.
Culverhouse Cross is one of Cardiff's biggest retail parks and heavy traffic is being reported in the area, as South Wales Police investigates.

Traffic is being diverted along Michaelston Road and police are warning motorists and Christmas shoppers to "avoid the area".
In a statement, the ambulance service said: "We were called at shortly before 12.15pm to reports that a young girl had been knocked over by a car on Cowbridge Road West in Cardiff.
"The Wales Air Ambulance and an emergency ambulance attended the scene and the girl was airlifted to the University Hospital of Wales."
