Plans to build 180 flats and homes on the site of a former Cardiff pub have been approved.

The Wharf on Schooner Way was demolished to make way for 177 flats and three townhouses earlier this year.

Plans include five blocks of flats, the tallest being seven storeys, and a cafe/restaurant. The application includes 37 affordable homes.

Cardiff council's planning committee approved the plans on Wednesday subject to a number of conditions.

The Wharf pub, which was owned by Brains brewery, closed earlier this year.
