Grandfather killed in A4063 Tondu crash a 'gentle man'

The family of a "wonderful" grandfather who died after crashing his cement mixer into three parked cars have described their loss as a "cruel blow".

Kevin Simon, 52, died at the scene of the the collision at about 14:30 BST on Wednesday at Coytrahen, Tondu, Bridgend.

His family described the grandfather-of-four, from Neath Port Talbot, as a "wonderful person, loved by all".

His son Aaron said he had lost his "best friend".

"He was such a caring, considerate and gentle man and it is such a cruel blow that he has been taken from us so soon," a statement from his family said.

"He was a much loved husband, father, son and brother who will be dearly missed by his wife, Teresa; all his children, Paul, Aaron, Demi, Ashley and Jodie; his grandchildren, Libby, Jayden, Ela-Mai and Gia; and also his pet dog, Odi."

Police are investigating the collision.
