Three charged in connection with fatal flats crash in Cardiff

Three people have been charged in connection with the death of a woman whose car crashed into a block of flats in Cardiff.

Sophie Taylor, 22, from Llandaff, died after her BMW collided with the building in Adamsdown on 22 August.

A 21-year-old-passenger who sustained serious injuries in the collision is still recovering in hospital.

South Wales Police has voluntarily referred the matter to the Independent Police Complaints Commission.

Michael Wheeler, 22 and Melissa Pesticcio, 23, have been charged with causing death and serious injury by dangerous driving.

Lewis Hall, 18, has been charged with intending to pervert the course of justice.

Mr Wheeler is also charged with committing fraud by false representation.

Ms Pesticcio faces a further charge of dangerous driving.

All three will appear at Cardiff Magistrates Court on 4 November.
