A schoolboy has been taken to hospital after being hit by a car in the Vale of Glamorgan.

The Year 7 pupil from Barry Comprehensive School was hit on Colcot Road, Barry, near the Cooperative Store at about 08:15 BST on Monday, a Welsh Ambulance Service spokesman said.

Nearby College Road was partially blocked following the incident.
