Dog owner sought after teenager bitten in Hengoed

Police have been trying to trace the owner of a dog after a 13-year-old boy was bitten in the street.

The incident happened at about 17:00 BST on Monday in the area of Old Parish Lane and Cae Canol in Hengoed, Caerphilly county.

The boy needed treatment for a wound on his thigh.

Gwent Police said the dog's owner was white, in his 60s, about 6ft and of average build, and was wearing a dark green rain jacket with black trousers.

The dog was black with white fur around its face, possibly a Border Collie.
