Gwent Police will hand over a report to air crash investigators after a light aircraft came down on the A40 in Monmouthshire.

Three people sustained minor injuries when the four-seater Piper Warrior II plane came down between Abergavenny and Raglan at about 15:30 BST on Saturday.

The dual carriageway was closed for several hours.

Police said the report would now be given to the Air Accident Investigation Branch (AAIB) for an inquiry.

The aircraft was lifted from the carriageway before being taken to the AAIB headquarters in Hampshire, where it will undergo a detailed crash examination.
