Jamie Baulch joins Coed Eva school fire charity run

People gather for the fun run

Olympic silver medallist Jamie Baulch has joined Torfaen residents at a charity run to raise money for a school which was gutted by fire.

The blaze at Coed Eva Primary School, in Cwmbran, broke out at about 02:25 GMT on New Year's Day.

Most pupils have now returned, but nursery children will go back on 25 January when temporary classrooms will have been installed.

Seven people arrested in connection with the fire have been bailed.

Hundreds of people, including staff, parents and teachers, took part in the three-mile (5km) run, which started at Cwmbran Stadium at 10:30 GMT on Sunday.

More than £4,000 has already been raised for the school, which the council says could take up to two years to rebuild.
