Rhymney Valley crash victim named as Royston Carr, 83

The family of a man who died in a crash have described him as a proud Welshman.

Royston Carr, 83, was the driver of a blue Vauxhall Astra that crashed at about 13:20 GMT on Thursday in Pontlottyn, Caerphilly county.

Gwent Police said Mr Carr, who lived in nearby Abertysswg, died at the scene.

His family described him as a "genuine, caring, considerate" man who loved life and was "proud of his heritage and proud to be Welsh".
