Staff shortage reshuffle at Nevill Hall Hospital, Abergavenny

Staff shortages have forced a health board to shake-up paediatric services in Monmouthshire in the week between Christmas and New Year.

All babies under 36 weeks will be redirected from Abergavenny's Nevill Hall Hospital to the Royal Gwent in Newport, as will paediatric GP calls.

But both hospitals will maintain emergency paediatric services.

Aneurin Bevan University Health Board said the steps would help ease its inability to fill rotas.

Normal service is expected to resume on 1 January.
