Man who died after Newport stabbing named as Rhys Jones

A 36-year-old man who was stabbed to death in Newport has been named by police.

Rhys Jones, from Newport, died from his injuries following the incident on Clarence Place on Tuesday at about 19:50 GMT.

A second man, 28, was also stabbed. Both men had been taken to the city's Royal Gwent Hospital.

A 28-year-old man arrested on suspicion of murder remains in police custody and investigations are continuing.
