Armed robbers steal £2,000 from Pontycymer Co-Op store

An investigation has been launched after armed robbers tied up three employees and stole more than £2,000 from a store in Bridgend county.

South Wales Police said two men wearing balaclavas, and carrying a crow bar and a hammer, also stole cigarettes, scratch cards and a cash register hard drive in the raid.

The incident happened at the Co-Op store on Victoria Street, Pontycymer, at about 06:00 GMT on Monday.
