An Ebola test on a patient at Cardiff's University Hospital of Wales has come back negative, Public Health Wales has said.
The person had a history of travel to West Africa.
Dr Marion Lyons, director of health protection at Public Health Wales, said there was no reason to believe there was any wider risk to public health.
She added: "All appropriate precautions have been taken to protect the patient, NHS staff and the wider community.
"It is important to remember that to date, only one case of Ebola has been identified in the UK and there has been none in Wales."
