Abergavenny restaurant fire 'not suspicious'
A fire which tore through an Indian restaurant in Abergavenny and led to two people being taken to hospital is not suspicious, police say.
Gwent Police investigated the cause of the blaze which broke out at Sundarbon Bengal Cuisine in the early hours of Saturday.
The A40 Monk Street was closed in both directions between Lower Castle Street and Lion Street after the fire.
The inbound lane reopened with temporary traffic lights on Sunday.
The other half of the road remains closed because the restaurant building is deemed to be unsafe and diversions are in place, Traffic Wales said.
Gwent Police said the fire is not being treated as suspicious and they had handed the investigation over to South Wales Fire and Rescue Service and Monmouthshire council.
At the height of the blaze, 40 firefighters were needed to tackle it and three people were rescued from a building next door.
