Woman, 90, dies after being hit by car in Penarth

A 90-year-old woman who was critically injured after being hit by a car has died.

South Wales Police are appealing for witnesses to the incident on Lavernock Road, Penarth, Vale of Glamorgan, on Tuesday at 17:10 GMT.

A silver Peugeot, being driven by a 70-year-old woman, struck the pedestrian who was taken to Cardiff's University Hospital of Wales.

It happened between the junctions of Augusta Road and Forrest Road.
