The inquest into the death of poet Anne Jackson has been opened and adjourned.

Mrs Jackson, who also taught creative writing, was found stabbed in the chest and neck at her home in the Usk area of Monmouthshire earlier this month.

Newport Coroner's Court was told police officers found her body on the floor of the living room and she was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics.

Timothy Jackson, 48, of Sheffield, has been charged with her murder and remanded in custody.

Writing under the name Anne Cluysenaar, Mrs Jackson's work had been been published in magazines and literary journals.
