Chepstow street lights to be switched off at night
Chepstow is to be the third Monmouthshire town to have street lights switched off in residential areas at night.
It follows Abergavenny and Monmouth where lights started to go out between midnight and 05:00 earlier this month.
The move will save Monmouthshire council £180,000 as it faces budget cuts of £11.2m in 2014/15.
Street lights are also due to be turned off in Caldicot and Usk later in the year.
It was agreed that no lights would be turned off in areas where there are CCTV cameras or traffic calming measures, pedestrian crossings or other high-risk pedestrian areas.
