Record bid for Gangnam Style dance at Whitchurch, Cardiff

Dancers in Cardiff hope they have done enough to set a world record for the most people performing the Gangnam Style routine at one time.

A total of 1,060 people at a festival in Whitchurch did the dance which has become a worldwide hit for Korean pop star Psy.

Organisers needed at least 1,000 to set a new official Guinness World Record.

They have to send evidence to officials and then wait to hear if their claim has been verified.

In May, a film for Gangnam Style became the first YouTube video to be watched more than two billion times.

Rachael Barlow, organiser of Saturday's dance event, said: "It was an amazing achievement, and I want to thank everyone who joined in and all the people who helped to make it happen.

"We weren't sure we were going to do it but in the end we did."

Proceeds from dance will go to the city's Velindre cancer hospital.
