Pedestrian, 75, critical after collision at Cwmbran car wash

A 75-year-old pedestrian is critically ill after a collision with a people carrier at a car wash in Cwmbran, say police.

It happened on Llantarnam Road at about 09:45 BST on Sunday.

A 26-year-old man from Gloucester arrested on suspicion of careless driving, driving without a licence and insurance has been bailed.

Gwent Police said the car's owner might not be aware of the collision but would not reveal more details.

Officers are appealing for the owner and any witnesses to contact them on 101.

The injured man is being treated at the Royal Gwent Hospital in Newport.
