Man, 49, hit by minibus in Pontyclun dies in hospital

A man has died after being hit by a minibus in south Wales.

The 49-year-old pedestrian, who lived locally, was struck on the A4222 Llantrisant Road at Pontyclun opposite the fire station at around 00:45 BST on Sunday.

He was taken to the Royal Glamorgan Hospital in Llantrisant but died.

South Wales Police is investigating and has appealed for witnesses to call 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.

The man's family is being supported by police officers.

The road was closed for about four hours while investigations were carried out.

The minibus was travelling from Pontyclun towards Talbot Green at the time of the incident.
