Three hurt in unconnected stabbings in Ely, Cardiff

Three men were injured in two unconnected stabbing incidents in the Ely area of Cardiff over the weekend.

South Wales Police said two men were taken to hospital with knife injuries after an incident outside the Ely Kebab House on Grand Avenue early on Sunday.

One is in hospital in a stable condition. Five men were arrested, and two, aged 42 and 34, remain in custody.

A 34-year-old man was stabbed in Pethybridge Road in another incident at 11:30 GMT on Saturday.

The unnamed man was said to be in a stable condition at the University Hospital of Wales, Cardiff, after the incident at about 11:30 GMT.

Police, who said his stabbing was not linked to the incident at the kebab shop, are appealing for help in identifying the occupants of a white Ford Mondeo spotted at the scene.
