Power restored to 10,000 homes in Penarth

Power has been restored to 10,000 homes in the Vale of Glamorgan which were without electricity for a short time following a power cut.

The problem centred on the Penarth area due to a fault at a primary sub station, according to Western Power.

A spokesperson said engineers were alerted to the problem at 1859 GMT.

They attended the sub station and switched customers to an alternative supply source.

The engineers were now trying to find the cause of the fault, said the spokesperson.
