A witness appeal has been renewed after a pedestrian died in a collision with a car near the Brecon Beacons.

Gavin Evans, 27, of Gelli Deg, Merthyr, died after the collision involving a grey Nissan Almera at about 2310 GMT on Saturday, said South Wales Police.

It happened on the A470 between Nant Ddu Lodge and Llwyn Onn.

In a tribute, his family said: "Gavin was a loving son and brother and will be sadly missed by all his family and friends and everyone who knew him."

Police said they wanted to hear from people in two vehicles going south on the A470 at about the time of the collision. Officers think the occupants might have seen Mr Evans shortly before he died.

Officers also want the driver of a vehicle towing a trailer to come forward.

Anyone with any information is urged to call South Wales Police on 029 2022 2111, extension 42333, calling 101, or the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
